David Thorpe and Jacinta Dixon

Jacinta Dixon (Partner to artist David Thorpe), an Aboriginal woman from Central Australia (Warramungu & Kaytetye Tribes), who now hails from South Australia, paints the women's stories taught to her by her family. David belongs to both the Yorta Yorta people, and the Gunnai / Kurnai people. His homelands runs along the Murray River in Gippsland Victoria. David is the nephew of Coral Hayes Pananka. He also has ties to the Bung Yarnda ( Lake Tyers ) Coast region. David uses wood from native trees to craft both animal sculptures and didgeridoos in the traditional manner and paints them with beautiful designs. He also carves in the manner taught to him by his grandfather and is an accomplished painter of traditional and modern styles.
