The Esteemed Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri AO ( Officer of the Order of Australia)
Do you want to enjoy and savor your long term savings with a fine art purchase?
A fellow collector wisely thought to invest in art as part of his superannuation portfolio. It turns out that he was totally wise in doing so – no super scheme could match his very fine investment. It’s now time for him to forgo this investment and move on…………
As a result his astute purchase, decades ago he now offers for sale, a very fine collection of works with the first pieces being a pair of large paintings entitled ‘ Honey Ant Dreaming ’ a series painted in the late 1980’s on location at Alice Springs, Northern Territory by the esteemed artist, Clifford Possum. The documentation and provenance of these works are flawless with photographs and statutory declarations supporting their authenticity.
The value of the works are moderate but for the overall significance of these museum pieces being very much part of Australian art history, especially since Clifford Possum’s passing in 2002 makes them a fine investment. The collection is also very striking work enabling a collector to enjoy these works daily.
The 2 large paintings currently on offer are painted with original ochre on canvas currently unstretched and have never been displayed, meaning the colours are vibrant and uncompromised. They will be professionally stretched for the proud new owners ready for display if requested or they can be kept as they are – your choice.
Indigenu is very proud to have been chosen to coordinate the sale of this significant collection of works from reputed Central Australian Artists with the first two pieces being the Honey Ant Dreaming Series painted in the early 1990’s on location by Clifford Possum Tjupaltjarri.(AO)
As you all know Indigenu supports emerging artists however they are happy to enable these works to offered to their collectors as we know there are many Indigenu clients who are discerning and wanting to go to that high end of the Aboriginal art market. These works can only be seen by private appointment and will be available through an Expression of Interest that will be open to the close of business on the 1st day of December 2013. The owner reserves the right to sell prior to this date or remove it from circulation.
This is a really exciting opportunity for a true collector to obtain works of unmeasurable value and part of the fabric of Aboriginal art history. For your private viewing of these works please call Tony on 0404149617.
Due to the exclusive nature of these paintings and the fact they have never been shown before, we are only showing a portion of the artwork in these photos.
