Two years have passed to the day that Indigenu in Sturt Street commenced its business as an avenue for both artists and collectors to come together and access some very beautiful works so, a standing ovation to all who made it all possible. To the artists and clients, Indigenu is grateful for your contribution and recognise that you are the backbone of the business. Relationships have been formed and cemented, sadly some friends of Indigenu have passed away we celebrate the arrival of many new ones.
To all those other people that are required to keep it all moving for Indigenu include picture framers and stretchers, online shop owner, IT and graphic design folk, neighbouring cafe, the building owners, Indigenu looks to working with you in the preceding year and beyond and thanks you sincerely for your work.
On a personal note, Indigenu has been an important part of my life and now has become my principal life as I have resigned from my ' normal daytime job' after being in ongoing employment for 36 years. There many others things that need to be done at Indigenu so more time will go into this including opening from Thursday through to Sunday.
Indigenu is currently testing a range products to be released soon under the banner of Indigenu - Native Inspired Foods. Included in this catering range will be roo ragu, wattle seed and cheese scrolls, zucchini and lemon myrtle frittata, lemon myrtle and honey baked cheese cakes along with a few other lines.
I am off to europe to see family and friends and back in early December. Hopefully the gallery will have a good range of things for gifting and will remain open with Teresa minding operations. It has been a wonderful 2 years and look forward to hosting Indigenu's 2nd birthday party. Also the Box factory Fair is on Saturday December 8th, Indigenu will have a special collection there, it will be the third. Always friendly and you'll always find something quirky there.
